At the core of our initiative is a personal journey – one marked by the profound impact of mental illness on a loved one. My husband battled severe mental health issues for years, dedicating himself to community work in this domain. Tragically, his struggles reached an unfortunate end, compelling me to carry on his legacy. Home Team Creations is a heartfelt endeavor to break the silence, emphasizing that we matter, and we're never truly alone.
In 2020, I initially began this blog as a cathartic outlet while grappling with my own health challenges, having been diagnosed with a rare blood disease, Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP). Little did I know, this digital space would evolve into a community, connecting me with others facing similar struggles. As life unfolded, my personal narrative took an unforeseen and devastating turn in June 2023. My husband, Tim, who had battled mental illness throughout his life, succumbed to his demons during a manic episode, leaving me to navigate a world turned upside down. Through Home Team Creations and our merchandise line, we strive to end the silence surrounding mental health, offering support and understanding while normalizing conversations around suicide prevention awareness. Together, we honor the memory of my husband and advocate for the importance of mental health dialogue.
