As most of you know by now I'm very passionate about Mental Health Advocacy and trying to break the cycle of mental health being taboo to talk about. My soul burns to help others and provide any resources I can to anyone who needs them. Living with my amazing husband for 12 years has given me a lot of personal experience when it comes to loving someone with a mental health condition. Since his passing, it's become a topic that I want to scream from the roof tops. HE mattered... YOU matter.
With that being said, I want to remind all of YOU that you matter and your mental health is important. Your brain does not know the difference between mental and physical pain. Therefore, you should be kind to your mind and give it as much attention as you do your body. I don't think people get told enough how good they are doing. Whether it's a single mom trying to get by, a CEO executive who just lost his wife, a homeless person that hopes to wake up for another day or the person standing next to you at the grocery store thinking how they are going to make it another day. YOU matter. YOU are doing a great job. We do the best we can, with what we have, right now. We should normalize telling each other good things. We're all out fighting some kind of battle, we all have our things... it's nice to be reminded that you're doing it. You haven't given up. Normalize talking about it, normalize being kind to your mind. Normalize open discussions on how people are actually feeling.
